Powerpoker is a new poker room on the scene from Powerpartners.com. They launched the site with a marketing campaign headed by online High Stakes player Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies. The software is based on the Cake Poker network, but graphically is alot sleaker and more akin to Full Tilt and Pokerstars. Powerpoker accepts US players too and will likely become a big player amongst the other poker rooms

     Based on the Cake poker software, powerpoker have given it a revamp and it is alot sleaker than the standard Cake tables. The Lobby is easy to navigate and games and tournaments are easy to locate.

    At peak times, over 8000 players can be found on the tables. This is likely to grow though as teh site develops. The presence of Ziigmund at the tables also produces alot of high stakes action not seen on site of a similiar size.

As Powerpoker is relatively new, alot of marketing strategy is focused on the tournaments with plenty of guarentees, freerolls and "gold chip" tournaments typical of the cake network.
