   Summary

Action poker is the flagship site of the Action Poker Network  developed by PlaySafeHolding based in Norway. The site is a "middle range" room, and a firmly established site, having been in existence since 1999. They offer great rakeback and a substantial deposit bonus, which can work out as getting over 80% rakeback! The graphics are very crisp, and overall an improvement on the default Cake Netowrk style tables. Due to the colors used the Lobby can seem a little cluttered, but does not take long to get used to.  Aswell as the excellent rakeback and sign up bonus, the biggest appeal of Action Poker is its wide range of games on offer, which include the increasingly popular Chinese poker and Pan (Panguingue).

   Software

The software is unique and very good. Technical support is excellent aswell, and anyone that has played on the Cake network or Merge will find this to their liking. Its easy to navigate and display options in the room itself are uncluttered. There is better software out there, but Action more than holds its own.

   Traffic

As with many of the sites in the "middle range" of poker rooms, traffic outside the NLHE and FLHE is limited. You will not get action outside of peak times in any of the other games, but there are always active table for the Hold em games. Tournaments tend to fill up to around 100 people or so.  This increases when Action run promotions however.

   Tournaments & Promotions
Tournaments are not a strong are within ActionPoker. In fact, they have one of the weakest turnouts of any online site we’ve seen, although they are still trying to build up their player base. Their Sit and Go tourneys range from microstake buy-ins of $0.10+$0.01 up to $200+$10, but don't except to see much action past the $50 level. As for MTTs, you're lucky to get a tournament with over 100 participants. The average buy-in is very low, but there is a 10k Guarantee that runs with rebuys.     Action Poker do though offer an abundunce of freerolls. In fact nearly half their tournaments are freerolls and so is an excellent place to build a bankroll from scratch, and with the exotic games on offer, have some fun too!

   Rakeback, Bonus and Reload Offers

Action Poker offer a decent rakeback percentage of 35%. They also offer an excellent sign up bonus of 100% match up to $2500. One of the best match up bonuses that can be found online. To claim the sign up bonus you must earn 14 Player Option Points (POP) for every ($1) Dollar deposited.

Pop points are earned by contributing to real money raked hands and buying in to tournaments.

Raked Hands: For every 10 cents that you contribute to the rake you will earn 1 Pop Point.  Please note however, when you are calculating how many POP you have earned, that the maximum rake paid on ANY table is $3 no matter how big the pot.

Example:
If 5 people are playing at a No-Limit $10 Hold'Em table and each person contributes to the pot evenly and the total pot is $50, then each player would have contributed $10 to the pot.  Rake is then calculated at 5% of this so each person would have put 50 cents into the rake.  You earn 1 POP per 10 cents in the rake therefore 50 cents into the rake would earn you 5 POP.

Tournament Play: For every $1 you pay in tournament hosting fees you will earn 10 POP Points. Tournament POP is calculated in $1 increments (rounded down). In order to earn POP from tournaments the fee must equal or exceed $1.

Example:
If you buy into a $10+$1 Sit-N-Go tournament, once play commences you will earn 10 POP points. Re-Buys can also earn you POP, so each re-buy into a $10+$1 tourney will earn you an additional 10 POP points.
