Rush Poker on Full Tilt
Poker
I'll be playing (trying to play) a 5-8 hour session today primarily to
see the effect it has on rake. Those that are complaining about rake
are misguided a little i think as from my initial observations im of
the opinion that this form of poker is perfect for the rake conscious.
If if FTP used contributed rake (players are paid rake only in hands
that they have put money into the pot) i could see the complaints, but
they dont, they use the "dealt method" whereby players receive rake
from every hand they are dealt in. If you are playing 300 hands an hour
on one table (and you will be playing between 300-500ph) this can
really add up. If you can 4 table (8 is the max) then you are looking
at 1200 an hour! This is unbelievable (but true!) If you can 8 table
(then your obviously on red bull with pro plus) you are looking at well
over 2000 hands an hour of possibly raked hands (levels dependant).
This
will open up the doors to alot of players to take part in the Iron man
(and others) that previously didnt have time to put in the hours (or
dont like multi tabling over 4).
My
initial reaction to Rush
Poker was "great - donkey fest", but on reflection and having played a
couple of times i actually think this could be the most significant
development in online poker for some time, especially for those with
good rakeback and bonus deals on FTP, and we'll probably see our own
"Rush Poker" board here in the poker school boards. I'd go so far to
say potentially we could see this spread to other sites faster than the
introduction of super turbos a few years back.
For
those still sceptical, i think this is the most important part of the
FAQ:
Do I earn Full Tilt Points by playing a Rush Poker* game?
Yes,
Full Tilt Points are awarded in the same manner as a standard ring
game. For every Rush Poker* hand that you are dealt cards in,
you’ll
receive the standard one Full Tilt Point per dollar raked from the pot.
See the Full Tilt Points page for a detailed explanation of earning
Full Tilt Points.
Please
note that you will still receive Full Tilt Points for a Rush Poker*
hand where you use the Quick Fold option.
Provided
that there is rake taken from the pot in that hand, you will receive
points even if you move to another table before the hand is finished.
Happy
Hour bonus Full Tilt Points are also awarded for Rush Poker* games
during standard ring game Happy Hours. See the Happy Hour page for more
details on earning bonus Full Tilt Points.
For
players like me that play with rakeback and/or bonuses in mind, and
hence play on several sites, this form of poker has opened a big door
in terms of potential daily profit... now bring on the strategy blogs!
two
of the most important things ive noticed so far
is;
1.
never quick fold in late pos or sb). Min raise with anything if e1 has
folded to you. (if they have quick folded, u dont need to raise more
and if they have stayed in the hand and u raised with 27, its cost you
the min to fold to a reraise)
2.
never quick fold the BB, but start re popping late pos raises with a
larger range.
How
long this will be profitable for though as the strat posts get out
there will be interesting.
