| Pokerstars VIP Programme | ![]() |
PokerStars was the first online poker site to reward its frequent players, and the PokerStars VIP Club remains the on of the biggest and best rewards program in online poker! Every PokerStars real money player is eligible to earn points at our tables. These points can be spent on great merchandise, to enter online tournaments, and to qualify for major live events! The more you play, the more you earn. See below to find out more about what Pokerstars offer.
How do I get rewarded?
Accumulating Frequent Player Points is as easy as playing poker. When you play at PokerStars, you earn points for each qualifying raked hand you play in our cash games, and for every tournament fee you pay in our multi-table or Sit & Go tournaments. These points are the building blocks of the VIP Club. There are two different types of points:
- VIP Player Points (VPPs)
- Frequent Player Points (FPPs)
VPPs are there only to measure your VIP level and can’t be redeemed. FPPs have value and can be used to enter tournaments, purchase items from the VIP store, or exchange to cash.
Each time you earn one VPP you will also earn one or more FPPs based on your VIP level. For example, if you are a Supernova player you will earn 3.5 FPPs for each VPP (see more details below).
Once you attain the required number of VIP Player Points (VPPs) in a month or a year for a particular VIP level, you immediately begin to receive the benefits that level offers. Your status lasts until the end of the following calendar month or until you qualify for a higher level. At the end of the month, the VPP counter in the Cashier will reset to zero and you begin to qualify again.
How do I earn VPPs?
You earn points by playing in PokerStars games which have a rake or fee.
In PokerStars tournaments, you earn points based on the entry fee. You receive VPPs at the rate of 5 VPPs (and corresponding FPPs) for each $1.00 in fee paid. Fractional VPPs will be awarded in hundredths.
- For example, if you play a tournament which costs $10+$1 to enter, $10 goes into the prize pool, and $1 is the entry fee. You earn 5 VPPs for each $1 in entry fees, so you would receive 5 VPPs for playing this event.
- In a $5 buy-in Sit & Go poker tournament with a $0.50 entry fee, 2.50 VPPs will be awarded to each player who played in the tournament.
Please note that "Play Money" and "Freeroll" tournaments do not charge a cash fee, so do not award VPPs.
In PokerStars cash games, VPPs (and corresponding FPPs) are awarded based on the amount of “rake” taken from each hand played.
STANDARD TABLES*
A first VPP is awarded for playing a hand in which the rake reaches
- $0.40 for fixed limit poker games with stakes $1/$2 and lower
- $0.40 for NL/PL poker games with blinds $1/$2 and lower
- $1.00 for all other games
A second VPP is awarded for playing a hand in which the rake reaches:
- $2.00 for all 6-max tables (this doesn't apply for games being played 6- handed at 10/9/8 player tables - just at 6-max tables)
- $3.00 for all other tables
A third VPP is awarded for playing a hand in which the rake reaches $5.00.
*The standard VPP award scheme applies to all cash ring game tables not listed below
VPP are awarded differently at some PokerStars cash game tables. Tables offering this award structure include:
- ’1-on-1’ tables for all games
- Full Ring Limit tables up to 25c/50c
- Full Ring No-Limit tables up to 5c/10c
- All
‘6-max’ tables for the following games:
- No Limit Hold’em
- Pot Limit Hold’em
- Pot Limit Omaha
- Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo
- Limit games up to 25c/50c
VPPs at these tables are based on the total rake collected at the table, and the number of players dealt into the hand. Like in tournaments, at these tables VPPs are awarded at the rate of 5 VPPs for each $1.00 in rake collected. The total VPPs for that hand are then divided equally among the players who were dealt into that hand.
